Barbara is the Treasurer of our Society.

Barbara has always been interested in art, both looking at pictures and drawing and painting, especially as a young child and teenager.  She then did very little until after she had retired and discovered art classes.  She felt she was lacking in confidence and technique (she said O Level Art didn’t teach you much in the 1950s), but she was lucky enough to find a very good beginners’ art class, which was a revelation.

Since then, Barbara has been to classes and short courses, and enjoys using different media and experimenting with different styles.  She said she has not so far ventured into conceptual art – her bed gets made every morning!
