Jacob Kwesi Bennett

Jacob was born in the UK but relocated with his family to Ghana – West Africa where he came from at an early age. He has been drawing from an early age of about 6 years in Ghana, continued through secondary and finally at the College of Art, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Jacob relies on precision to some extent in his works and says his power relies on finesse and sound craftmanship to buttress his clear vision. The variety of colour he uses are mostly applied thinly but occasionally in impasto. His paintings have designs, patterns and symbols reminiscent of his Ghanaian background.

Jacob said his aim is always to create something beautiful and aesthetically pleasant to the eyes, which can reduce stress just by looking at it. Admirers will find themselves in the art piece, ben part of it. He believes in allowing the viewer to participate in the composition by trying to interpret it in his or her understanding.
