Desmond is a draughtsman and painter, working primarily in charcoal, pastel and oil. He mostly paints portraits, with occasional landscapes and still lifes. Desmond is a member of the Pinner Sketch Club (of which he is the Membership Secretary).

Desmond runs weekly portrait classes and monthly portrait workshops at Harrow Arts Centre.
