Merve holds a degree in Fine Arts, where she explored various disciplines including photography, sculpture and traditional painting. This classical background deeply shaped her understanding of colour, light and form, and it continues to guide her creative decisions today.

The Shift To Digital: As Merve’s family grew, so did the beautiful chaos of her daily life. When her kids became a little too eager to “help” with her traditional supplies – often turning her workspace into a colourful mess – she decided to transition mainly to digital art. This medium gives her the freedom to open her tablet and create instantly, without the long setup or cleanup.

Merve’s Creative Rhythm: Merve makes art in the stolen moments of a busy day: while the kids are at school, during their nap times, or in that brief window between lunch and the afternoon rush. These limited hours actually fuel her creativity, forcing her to be fast and focused. However, she hasn’t completely left physical materials behind. She frequently organises hands-on-art activities with her kids using recycled and upcycled materials. It’s a great way for them to explore textures together while keeping the mess manageable.

Merve’s Style and Subjects: Because Merve’s creation time is limited, her art is quick and highly expressive. Instead of striving for perfect details, Merve embraces raw, sketchy lines that are full of energy. She loves working with bold, contrasting palettes – like placing purple figures against a vibrant orange background, or using striking pinks and blues. Her subjects are deeply personal from her everyday reality: the quiet moments of motherhood, warm embraces, and simple walks in the rain. Through her work, Merve tries to capture the genuine, unfiltered connection between people.
